hon-john wants to know if these dishes are Carpay ...
John was told that these dishes were by Carpay and asked if I could put them on the Forum for opinions from others. The small dish is 10cm x 10cm and the oblong dish is 17.5cm x 9cm. I'm sure I've seen the oblong pattern before on TradeMe, listed as a 'Something' Airline dish. I haven't seen the abstract small dish pattern before. John would appreciate any input.

In my opinion these shapes were made well after Carpay left Crown Lynn.
The larger one is a British Airways dish.

Agreed. The style, the shapes and the back stamps do not suggest Carpay. Yes I have seen that rectangular dish with an airline mark.... British Airways. The plain coronet backstamp suggests a 1980s seconds shop product. Jim has a couple of British Airways shaped dishes with different patterns but the same style that also look like seconds shop ware. During the 1980s they got rid of their huge stock of surplus bisque ware by glazing them in various patterns, some old and some new (the patterns), and selling for knockdown prices through a chain of Crown Lynn seconds shops.

I'm not sure what the shape number is for the small square dish.
Can anyone tell me?

Haha you have been in Oz too long
The 456 has the Fletchers logo on it.
Richard Quinn says that this is 3 1/2 inches, but not how high.
Perhaps mumof1 will take a look and see what she thinks.
It looks like the 456 was first made in the early 1960's so too late for Carpay and yet the Fletchers dish is often listed as Carpay .......?

Hon-john's small dish has straight sides, and the 456 and 471 both have sloping sides. As near as I can get the measurements on the 456, they are: 102mm square (4") and 20mm (3/4") high, so no help sorry.
What is the marking on the small square dish? I am having trouble making it out.
