Re: A few more bits for the gallery Avondale College mug for 40th Anniversary 1985
I'm just trying to work out the shape number for this Avondale College mug.
Kat gave no number in her listing:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/pottery-glass/porcelain-pottery/crown-lynn/cups-saucers/auction-683601142.htm
Best I can work out is 1314/3050 (same shape) with a leaning to 3050 because of the date: 1985.
I just checked my 1314 and see that the Avondale is both wider and taller but essentially the same shape, so I guess 3050 could be good.
Or is it something else entirely?
While I was doing that I saw the "stained glass" mug at 3051. Do the notes give that number? I can't get past the description "striated coffee mug" which suggests a surface with some sort of lines/ridges/grooves on it, which is not evident in the wee gallery pick.

Yes I have a catalogue with the 3051 number for the stained glass series.
No idea regarding the descriptions regarding striated!
Your guess is as good as mine ~.~
3050 looks good to me for the Avondale College Mug.
Marl posted that one some time ago too.

I had no need for my Avondale College mug so I gave it to Joss, whose son Angus has just started there. Next day Joss returned from Blockhouse Bay market with a second cup. Calum starts there in a few years so two is good!
Mine was crazed and I gave it a good clean with peroxide to bring it up clean and tidy.
Joss' one was perfect.
He said it looked smaller.
I thought aha you have bought a stoneware one and mine is an earthenware.
The ring test confirmed that.
3802 left and 3050 right
Following up on my previous post, Avondale College mugs could be either 3050 (earthenware) or a 3802 (stoneware). The 1314s have a number on the base.
Joss hauled out his advertising transfer mugs (Zebra etc, sourced from different locations) and we found that they too were a mixture of 3802 and 3050.
Ev, judging from this it might be a hard ask finding a pattern exclusively on 3802 shape.

I'm still hoping for confirmation of the 3802 with a pattern from one of the Stoneware ranges e.g. Aurora Blue Lagoon, Winter Wheat or the House of Reps Jeremy.
