Jubilee Casserole 5620 for the gallery
The smallest of the lidded casserole series this time BS is 'The Avondale Selection' Jubilee Cookware oven proof. No lid but expect it would have had one. I have not seen the Brown Orange Brown banding before on a blue grey body. Brilliant glaze and doubt that it has been near an oven since coming out of the glazing kiln. Re: small pot with lid 5620
I've merged yours with the other 5620's that have been posted Jonno.
It's good to see the selection of glazes used

Re: small pot with lid 5620
I have 4 of these and have used them extensively as soup bowls and single serve casserole dishes. Yes I think it says No 5620. We always called them ramekins but ramekins don't have lids and do have handles don't they?[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: small pot with lid 5620
Lets see what Crown Lynn called them ......
5620 - Small Individual Casserole (was 1645) First made - 1.3.1976
Looking at 1645 -
Individual Casserole 12oz [the lid is 1646]
The next size up is 1647 - 24oz Casserole then 1648 - 45oz and then the 1649 a 65oz stewpot

5620 in Pioneer
I have many (4 inch) 5620s in pioneer in use as daily cooking and frig storage. I pick them up regularly when I see them cheap enough.
I also use the 6 inch, which appears to be numbered 5621, and the 8 inch which has no number: can I assume it is 5622? These are used at least once a week, currently for lasagne. Much harder to find than 5620s.
When I first started using them I used to accidentally ping them (they make a "ping" sound as they crack) by putting them in direct contact with hob elements. This leaves me short of one 5621 body. A drop leaves me short of one "5622" lid.

not really pioneer
I have been referring to the 5620-5622 casseroles as Pioneer merely for convenience, as everyone is familiar with the brown glaze on Pioneer and Redwood plates.
I have seen a casserole in this range that I believe may be a true Pioneer, and from memory it is maybe 50/50 white/brown, or perhaps a variation on the Pioneer cups.
I used to wonder about the variation in darkness of the glaze, but now as I look at them stacked up on the kitchen shelf, I see that there is variation, but there are two quite distinct tones, light like honey-glaze (which I used to refer to them as), and dark like Pioneeer and Redwood.
I have really enjoyed looking at the various patterns here, and do note that they all appear to be stripe, or ring patterns. I have just acquired a Jubilee 5621 from my local market and it really livens up the shelf. I want more!
On a similar note, the little Cook & Serve bowls that match the shape of the Air New Zealand soup bowl (shape number anyone?), and come mainly in "Honey-Glaze/Pioneer" were also, apparently made in patterns (other than Air NZ) as one is for sale on trademe as "Red Tango" (red outside, white inside, but sadly lacking any Tango pattern). Does anyone have any others to show off?
I'd love to see more Cook & Serve ovenware in patterns.

follow-up to cookware patterns
I've just bought 5620s in Colonial and Jubilee. From seller's picture both have dark brown or black lids, single colour. I also have a 5621 in Jubilee with a dark brown lid.
In Val's book she shows a 5620 Jubilee with Jubilee (orange and brown rings) lid, and a recent sale showed a 5622 with similar Jubilee lid.
I'm guessing that rather than these (my ones) having the "wrong" lids, that they are a later issue with cheaper production costs.
...
The Colonial and Jubilee 5620s have arrived.
The lid for the Colonial is brown outside, cream inside to match the inside of the casserole. The inner glaze extends to form a cream ring on the top visible from the outside.
The lid for the Jubilee is the same brown outside as the Colonial, and grey inside to match the inside of the casserole. This is consistent with the lid on the 5621.
These are indeed the correct lids for the casseroles.

Jubilee casserole
Hi, I was going through the posts for Jubilee as I found a small lidded casserole today No# 5621. It had the wide brown and orange bands with a blue/grey interior, but the lid is plain brown with off white interior. It is in perfect condition as well as the lid, but I do wonder if the lid matches as it is very loose. I will post photos in a few days when I get a chance.

Re: small pot with lid 5620
Thelma,
With both Jubilee and Colonial there are different versions, and as they appear so often I have presumed that they are both correct. If the colour on the inside of the lid matches that of the casserole all is good.
When compared side by side there are some other minor differences too.
I felt awfully upset that one of mine had the brown lid and one in Val's first book had the rings then I found another and got over myself.
I am very fond of Jubilee as it is almost exactly a pattern match for a set Marianne Westman designed for a Rorstrand, name of Annika. The CL may even have copied a Rorstrand as they did for other lines but the pattern of orange and brown may perhaps be considered ubiquitous.
