Re: A Number Seven??
This trough that Heather took a photo of thanks to Jim Drummond when he still had his shop doesn't have a number or any backstamps on it. Heather identified it by the glaze and from a sketch of a 7 listing on Trademe which I can no longer find now -

It appears to match perfectly with it's distinctive pointed base which the Crown Lynn records call a V Bottom.
The 6 shape looks very similar, but doesn't have a V Bottom. Does anyone have either a 7 or a 6 shape that is numbered?

Re: A Number Seven??

This is my horseshoe trough, I bought as a 6, but it is not numbered or marked.

and up-side down, to give another angle. I don't know if it is a 6 or a 7, it is 'V' shaped, but rounded as well.

Re: A Number Seven??
I'm all excited as it looks like a shape 6 to me ......

It is more refined than the 7 ...
There is a ridge along the curve of the trough on the 7 which isn't there on the 6 ...
The 7 has a definite point at the base, whereas the 6 is more rounded ....
the 7 is wider at the ends than the 6.....
It's a 6 as far as I'm concerned .... just need a couple of more votes to put it into the Gallery

Re: A Number Seven??
As i bought it as a number 6, and it looks just like the museum pic, of course I have to agree also.

Re: A Number Seven??
I happened across measurements for the Shape 7 -
275mm x 130mm
Can you let us know the measurements for the Shape 6 please Sunny?

Another number seven?

I have avoided buying this trough for many months now from the local market, but yesterday I gave in, as I had convinced myself it was Crown Lynn, and a number 7. Any thoughts by anyone? The measurements are right, give or take a couple of mm, so that is one thing in its favour, plus the glaze looks very right to me too.
