Courteney's Exclusive Catering for the Gallery
I wonder if anyone can recall this company ? The back stamp is from the 1948/55 era according to Monk. In very good order some crazing apparent.

I don't know that name Jonno ..... where were they located?
re Courteney's Exclusive Catering for the Gallery
I believe they were based in Auckland City but as we only arrived in the mid sixties it is not a name I am familiar with. It was Trillo's in the 60's.

I remember Trillo's, though for the life of me I can't think of the name of the guy who ran it !!!! That info does help in a way, thanks Jonno

re Re: Courteney's Exclusive Catering for the Gallery
Ah! that is one I can answer the name was Cliff Trillo
Found this from 2009 :-
You might also care to Google for "Cliff Trillo" in New Zealand.
Cliff, who passed away maybe 20 years ago, was a much respected figure in
the Auckland Restaurant trade.
However the search for Courteney Catering in Auckland was a failure the best I could find was in Austin Texas

Re: Courteney's Exclusive Catering for the Gallery
Of course!!!!! You are such a treasure Jonno

I wasn't aware that there were Trillo restaurants in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin as well as Auckland until I joined Trademe and saw the map tableware for those areas as well.

Re: Courteney's Exclusive Catering for the Gallery
from what i gather Ev I think that Trillos was only in Auckland, it was situated in the "Downtown Building" on Quay street and the map had a big Black dot marking this location on it.
The "downtown" plates I have for Auckland and Christchurch dont have a Dot marking them.
Im guessing that the former spurned the latter. ???

Re: Courteney's Exclusive Catering for the Gallery
I have an Auckland map plate and it has 7 black dots on it.
These are named -
Travelodge
Trillos
Great Northern
South Pacific
Star
Intercontinental
Royal International
I wasn't aware that the 3 other city map plates didn't have a similar setup ?
Shows how much passes me by heh!
