Leather covered pottery bowl
Can anyone identify this bowl or provide information, is it NZ made? Large (80cm diameter at widest point), and heavy, ribbed pottery bowl, which has been covered using three joined sections of leather. There are no marks on the bowl, but information indicates it once belonged to a Winton, Sth Island, family. Thanks

Yes it's certainly unusual-reminds me of an acorn 'hat'. And sorry that should read 80cm Circumference (not diameter)
