Fantastic !!! Love this pattern
This was made in the mid 1960's and next time I'm in the Deco Advices I will post exactly when it was made.

"Happenings!"
From the top of the box my set of "Purple Myrtle" cans and saucers came in:
(Sorry about the shadow of the iPad.) From this, and another label on the box,
I guess the series that produced Purple Myrtle, Arthur and Martha, and Captain Sharples is called "Happenings".

Thank you Jeremy!
While looking around today I found that this range was made in 1968.

Jeremry.. The purple myrtle cup came with a black saucer.
Question:- The saucer ... is it a colour glaze ie white base or black both sides?

"Happenings" saucers
The saucer for the "Purple Myrtle" can is white underneath, black on top,
and backstamped "Colour Glaze New Zealand" in green just like this one:
https://2img.net/u/1511/32/54/78/album/th/colour13.jpg
I know the saucers belong to the cans because they came in a boxed set.
As I need only display one "Purple Myrtle" can, I use spare saucers
from that set for my "Arthur and Martha" and s,
which I bought without saucers.
They may very well have been issued on a different coloured saucer
but I suspect the black is correct.
You can see my "Purple Myrtle" and "Arthur and Martha" cans on the saucers here:

and my "Captain Sharples" can on a saucer from the same set here:

Yep.. I thought so, the purple/m I bought came with the wrong saucers. The lady said she bought 6 as a set and sold them individually. Good to know these things!

JanPots, Your last reply came in as I was editing so you will find I have added a few more links above.
PLEASE NOTE that just because my cans came in a box with the saucers described,
it does not necessarily mean they were not issued on a different saucer at another time.
Or maybe without saucers at all.
I think I have spotted a matching saucer on TM, but if you are interested,
you will have to ask the seller for the measurements yourself. See:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/pottery-glass/porcelain-pottery/crown-lynn/cups-saucers/auction-653020834.htm
Advertised as a "Jumbo Saucer", a visual comparison (holding mine up by the computer screen),
looks like a match. The measurements for my black Colour Glaze saucer are:
148mm across the outside and 55mm or so across the depression for the cup.
The supporting ring underneath, to hold the saucer up, is 49mm across OD.
What saucer do you have, anyway? It may be worth a picture. It may even look better!

Black saucer
Hiya
Its the same as the saucers that come with the tall coffee mugs - Its does not have the white ring, but neither do the other plain colour saucers that I have (which belong to the tall mugs.. and are stamped Crown lynn) The shape is the rim style .. Its not a worry, I was just curious.

Re: Purple Myrtle Pat No 530 from Yvonne69
There was a Purple Myrtle cup and saucer at Mark Cleverley's Exhibition, so I would say he had something to do with this design and also the Captain Sharples and Arthur and Martha.
Re: Purple Myrtle Pat No 530 from Yvonne69
Ev, I talked to Mark about the Happenings cups. He remembered designing Purple Myrtle and one of the films showed same in blue. He mentioned the three colour printing, red-blue-black, so there MAY be red and blue versions, perhaps not produced commercially.
When questioned on Sharples and Arthur/Martha he didn't remember the names he said as they would have been added by someone else in marketing but when showed pictures he remembered the designs as his.
I posted this stuff somewhere else, may have been my bit on the visit to Auckland for the opening. The previous posting likely to be more accurate as this is from memory.

Thanks heaps Jeremy and here is a link to that post

Juliet Hawkins also mentioned at the Roadshow that the designers didn't get to name the patterns that they had worked on.
