Who are these potters please?
These potters I am not sure of, but I was attracted to the pieces, so bought them anyway

It was not so much the bowl itself that caught my eye (before I dropped it and broke it in half - gulp)

but the symbol in the centre, which looks like the Chemists Guild symbol (first thought it was Rex Head)

and the mark - I'm not sure I even have it up the right way

next is this cute wee wall vase

with quite a distinctive mark, which I thought I recognised, but can't remember

this jug

marked RB

Sweet wee lidded pot

and mark, and lastly

Tall pot or vase

with this mark

I was wondering if the little wall vase mark like a house was Melis van der Sluis? I have the mark upside-down if it is.

I am convinced this is Melis van der Sluis with a little bit of extra clay on the mark

Yes I will go along with you re the Melis mark that was upside down, as it now looks right doesn't it

Re: Who are these potters please?
I sincerely hope someone figures out the mark on your bowl - I've just been puzzling over the same mark on a couple of goblets I have and thinking I am sure I've seen the mark somewhere before but cannot think where.

Do you mean the mark (3rd photo) that looks like a slanting A in a box? It is Royce McGlashen.

Yes - my old brain just clicked, I came in to mention it and wallah you'd beaten me to it!mumof1 wrote:Do you mean the mark (3rd photo) that looks like a slanting A in a box? It is Royce McGlashen.
