This little jug seems quite old, and appears to be made of brick-like clay

As the inscription is under the glaze, I thought it must be made in NZ

It has a row of dots around the cream mottled band and the base is unmarked. Any ideas anyone?
Clark & McMillan was established in Te Awamutu in 1913, and is still going today, so I wonder how old this might be?
