Hi Ev
Newport d489 - as per the pattern book. The matching cup says brown, this plate is a caramel brown, not chocolate brown.. So is it still Newport d489 ?
Amended thread with (The colour "caramel Brown" is that called "rusticana" - looking at the pattern page D262 Vila on the message you sent me?)Newport d489 Is_thi11

Vila has two colour tones but uses the same pattern number d262 and I think it is quite different to your pattern Janice, although it appears similar. Close inspection shows many differences.

Clyde Brown uses only the middle part of the engraving for Newport d489 and as the middle part or your plate matches Clyde Brown, but with an extra circle of pattern I'm thinking that your plate is in fact Newport d489. Complicated but all clear in my mind Laughing  We don't have all the information for Newport at this time, but I'm prepared to stick my neck out and give your plate that name and number. Cheers Ev

I've changed my mind Janice, as the Museum pic shows a band around the edge and this must be the border they are talking about in the side notes. mumof1's is definitely Clyde Brown d158 and if that pattern had an edge band it would be Newport d489.
