Which pieces of Titian pottery were copied from overseas potteries?
Sunny and I have noticed more than quite a few of the Titian pieces are replicas of potteries from England and Australia. Cam Brown admitted in a letter on the Titian blog that they did in fact copy other potteries ware. Darned if I can find that letter now!!
So please add a photo of the Titian piece and the pottery that it was copied from.

Crown Lynn also made that same shaped vase after they took over Titian Potteries and they gave it a four digit number -
2089 Shell Mantle [was B105] in 1972
Perhaps I should have put this into the Crown Lynn copies topic .....

wet your whistle mug
I have a couple of the Orzel Wet Your Whistle mugs and found a big one that looked similar, but it was much bigger and had a Japan sticker on it ....

SB.201
I found these two today in the Hospice shop. The one on the left is thicker in the clay and very rudimentary (looks almost like a hobby ceramics piece, the glaze inside is shocking!), and the one on the right is, of course the Titian SB.201 (priced at $38!)
I don't know who Booth's Pottery is, if it is English, or in NZ?

Re: Which pieces of Titian pottery were copied from overseas potteries?
It looks like someone's made a mould from the Titian,
but that's a LOT of shrinkage.
Shrinkage from a plaster mould would not account for that size difference,
but maybe rubber would. I've made latex rubber moulds and as soon as you take the original out they shrink away. If the mud they used was very wet that would account for even more shrinkage as the casting dried out.
------
Later
I stand corrected by Ev, below.
The degree of shrinkage seen in the photos above does appear to be in the 10 to 12 percent range. I'm astounded what a change in size that gives.

As clay shrinks about 10 - 12% I would say that they have probably used a Titian vase to make a mould in this case.
V.116 / German
This looks almost identical to the V.116, but
it's German!
