I found this small bowl in a box (I have stacks of estate goods to dispose of), and on the base was a piece of tape

with Howard MacMillan written on it. I did some research and found that he taught at the original craft Potters club in Nelson, started over 40 years ago, and that he was Hugh MacMillan's father. There is some more history here http://www.stuff.co.nz/nelson-mail/features/arts/52598/Cultivating-a-craft which includes names like Bruce Lissant-Clayton and Roy Cowan. Mirek Smisek wass also involved in the earlier days. See also http://www.nelsonpotters.co.nz/profile/craft-potters for many more well known names

This is the mark on the side of the bowl. I am assuming the tape is correct.
