Holiday Puzzle: Frankenstein Coffee set (photo added)
I have no broadband for the holiday period so I can only link.
Here is a coffee set I bought on trademe last Monday:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=675334086
I don't know what it is.
I won't be seeing it for two weeks.
Pretty sure it's slip.
Pretty sure it's NZ.
Banded spout and body look Orzel.
Banded body and glaze looks Royal Oak.
Pot handle looks Royal Oak.
Cup and jug shape and handles look Stewart.
The glaze looks thick and lava-ish.
All components seem to have white interior,
so I believe they are a set,
even though the two lids appear different.
I bought a Royal Oak lidded jug at Hospice New Lynn in similar glaze.
And saw a similar pot but with tube handle in Dargaville (Orzel).
I have a teapot (Orzel) with banded spout but shaped end.
I'll have it in my hands about the 10th,
at which time I can give it my considered opinion.
In the meantime I will continue to contemplate the seller's photo
as though I will somehow receive enlightenment.
Have fun. Kid me.
Happy New Year,
Jeremy.

Re: Holiday Puzzle: Frankenstein Coffee set (photo added)
It's not pretty is it? The knob on the coffee pot and sugar ruin them to me. What does one do with such an ugly set other than regret buying it? At least the cups are ok. Don't ask me who made it as I don't even want to know.

The cups in this auction are a match for my Frankenstein set:

I still haven't worked out who made it, but I see that these ones have "Orzel drips"!
