Margery Smith

Another pottery piece I found in Wellington, but forgot to post. Good sized pot made by Margery Smith

Luckily there is a stamp to confirm the potter, as the mark is not fully impressed or clear

21cmh vase with similar looking mark, could this be the same potter?

Re: Margery Smith
I don't think so Kat, as it doesn't have the little circle at the top, and the S is a bit too far down. Looks very like Mirek Smiseks early mark in the Marks of NZ Potters book. Ev will know I'm sure.

Re: Margery Smith
There is something very familiar about this piece Kat, but it's neither Margery or Mirek's marks.
Re: Margery Smith
Hi Ev thanks for your help - it looks like Milan Slava Kavale’s mark is the inverse of mine? On those pots it was S M? Is this an early version?

Gosh I'm sorry for misleading you Phillibron :O
Please disregard my last post. I will remove it.
Now I'm not sure at all about the mark on your pot.
