What is this range called? Empty What is this range called?

I remember many trips to Mirek Smisek's pottery in Te Horo with my Grandmother.  I am pretty sure this is one of his though there is no potters mark.  I have more of this and would love to know if it has a "name".  I have foggy memories that it might be Japanese inspired.

That beautiful pottery is high fired stoneware ..... I just love it too!

My six year old took an interest in my pottery research this afternoon and wanted to know who made their "chippie bowl pottery"...I think I might need to take the casserole out of general cirulation.
