What is the pattern on this Cook & Serve casserole?
tuitua from trademe has kindly let us use her photo. This is a closeup.
Here's the auction:

Unsure -- I have not come across that one! Unless Ev has some brochures of Cook & Serve?

I've never seen that one before either!
There is another 'Angular' looking Cook & Serve pattern too that I don't know the name of.

Shape?
And what shape is it?

Re: SMALL & LARGE Shape 25 casseroles & lids 5612, 5613, 5614, 5615
Is this a Shape 25 casserole and lid?
No one made any suggestions what shape it might be so I had a look around.
All I can say is that the style of the lid matches the lid of a Carnaby coffee pot which is Shape 25, and the bottom of the basin seems to have the same bevelled cutaway as seen on all the Shape 25.
There are no Shape 25 casseroles in the gallery, small or large.
The measurements for this given in the auction listing indicate the smaller size as it is only 7.5cm high by 19.5 wide. My 5622, which is bigger takes 2 litres and the choices for this are small 2 pints (1.2l) or large 4 pints (2.4l).
5612 - Small Shape 25 Casserole Lid & Knob
5613 - Small Shape 25 Casserole 2 pt
5614 - Large Shape 25 Casserole Lid & Knob ... first made Nov 67
5615 - Large Shape 25 Casserole 4 pt - first made 1968

Re: SMALL & LARGE Shape 25 casseroles & lids 5612, 5613, 5614, 5615
Thank you and I totally agree with you as all of the other Shape 25 pieces were made between Oct 1967 and Nov 1967. This includes jugs, eggcups, cup, beaker, sugar basin and the 2pt and 4pt casseroles. I have no idea what the size of tuitua's casserole would be from the measurements, so I am totally relying on Jeremy's knowledge for this and I will add it to the Gallery
Re: SMALL & LARGE Shape 25 casseroles & lids 5612, 5613, 5614, 5615
I edited above while you were replying to suggest small rather than my original inclination for large.

Re: SMALL & LARGE Shape 25 casseroles & lids 5612, 5613, 5614, 5615
So is it a small or large casserole Jeremy?
Ok so we crossed again.....
Small shape 25 is 5613 and the lid is 5612

It must be the small Ev as there are only two.
I got my 5622 down and a measuring jug to find it only held 2 litres and as it is physically bigger than this one I have to go with small.
I am taking a pint as equal to 600ml.
That's an Imperial pint. The American pint is different!

It's great that we got two new shapes here,
and can now look out for the larger ones,
knowing what they will look like.
The time of the shape may also give some clue as to the pattern.
When I first saw this I thought Shape 25 but got bogged down elsewhere.
I will pass the info on to Nicole (tuitua), seeing as she let us use her photo.

Big One, 5615 etc
They have the large size at Hospice in Green Bamboo for $30.
I didn't have a camera. Maybe next week.
Hand and finger measure makes it about 230mm OD x 100 mm H at lip.
Actual measurements for 5615 large Shape 25 casserole given as 254mm x 95mm,
in this auction for Autumn Splendour:

Re: SMALL & LARGE Shape 25 casseroles & lids 5612, 5613, 5614, 5615
while looking around my notes.. I always get back to something that has already been researched before LOL
I started with a image of a leaflet of the shapes for A/Splendour and ended up here!
http://newzealandpottery.forumotion.net/t2846-looking-for-autumn-splendour-shapes?highlight=autumn
Is this the same casserole sizing very close? 4th picture in the list ( Marl474) - wonderful collection by the way
Unsure if it helps in any way?

Re: SMALL & LARGE Shape 25 casseroles & lids 5612, 5613, 5614, 5615
Janice, I think the casserole in that topic is the same as the genuine Pioneer casseroles,
The ones that aren't 5620-5622. They have those open top knobs.
I'm pretty sure we haven't given a number to those yet.
However, the Autumn Splendour in the link I put in today is Shape 25.
Shape 25 knobs are flat on top..

I have both the large and small sizes in Green Bamboo, can't figure out how to upload pics, (I'm sure it is real easy) so hopefully these links will work

The smaller is about 195 in diameter and the larger is about 240mm
