Shape 25 Ambrico vase
This is the first shape 25 vase that I have ever seen and I managed to win it on TradeMe with a bit of a fight. I was surprised at how big it is and the glazing is rather stunning, although the sun never came out today so it has been illuminated using artificial light. I neglected to take a photo of the base which has Made In Nz in a circle and fraction marks. The base just has a clear glaze on it. I get so excited when finding unseen old Ambrico vases !!!

with a 781 for size comparison ...

Here is a pic of the base ...
and I forgot to mention the umpteen bits that have been nibbled off on the rim of the vase

Re: Shape 25 Ambrico vase
Superb vase and thank you for showing us the Sparrow Industrial Pictures. They really help with identifying and comparing vases.
May be we should have a topic/folder to upload all the original photos in from newspapers, magazines, catalogues, post cards etc. so they are in one place and easy to find.
Who knows, we might find some interesting unnumbered or rare pieces on the pictures.

Re: Shape 25 Ambrico vase
I'm not sure about your suggestion haselnuss. Many of the Museum resources that I have are stamped "For private research only. To reproduce these records the Museum owns the copyright and you must seek permission" or something like that. It took many months to get permission to use the Museum photos that we use in the gallery and we have to acknowledge the Museum for them. So occasionally I put up photos for clarification and fully intend to remove them after a short time. Copyright is a serious matter.
