Christine Purdom - Fish Teapot
After looking at this week after week for months, I finally gave in and decided I had to have it!
Glad I did now, as it is a really cool piece
plus we don't have her mark in the gallery (good excuse huh?)

Re: Christine Purdom - Fish Teapot
O o o o I love that teapot. I picked up a random fish plate of hers a while ago in kerikeri just cos its so cute. It brightens up our lounge. I know nothing about her. I will post plate pic when i have finished nana duties.
EDIT...I have been relieved of Nana duties and here is the plate and the base. Width is 27.5 cm.
(And this is a different mark, Ev)

Re: Christine Purdom - Fish Teapot
I picked up a Chrissy Purdom Omaha plate today as the connection to Omaha made the penny drop at last.
A quick google helped to see the full picture of these two potters at Omaha. I visited Chrissy and Mark Brockie when they opened their Omaha Gallery about 12 years ago and bought a Shino fridge magnet made by Mark. It appears to be the ripples of the sand at low tide. He must have taken a mould of the real deal. No mark alas and I couldn't for the life of me remember his name until Google just now coughed it up. Aha that's him.

On other matters this Opshop commiserated that they had sold a Frank Carpay ashtray for a song last week as they didn't know it was his until the lucky sod paid for it !!!

Here is the really lovely Omaha plate which is wonderful as we spent a lot of time there in days gone by when it was a pristine ocean beach and you only saw seagulls and breakers ...
