Ev... 1290 - bottle with circular handle could this be it? or is it English
( circular handle throws it somewhat)

Hmmmm I don't think so as I think the 1290 shape is in the Modellers drawings, but I haven't checked it out yet. It has a very round handle like a big O. I will get onto it when I get a chance, but thanks Janice as you have nudged me into action

I see lots of vases that look crown lynn in shape and texture and have the numbers on the base... English me thinks!

I did join a pottery site that has English ware, I should check it out too (If I can find it again LOL)

Janice, those numbers are stamped in pretty hard, looks like German numbering to me. Ev, I joined this site some time ago, and like our site, they are pretty good at replying http://www.20thcenturyforum.com/

I've been a member of the 20thcentury site for many years and yes they help if they can. I agree with Sunshine that the black bottle vase could be German. I belong to http://potteryandglass.forumandco.com/ which was the forerunner to 20thcentury before their relationship spit up, but I've never tried them out for help.

I think that is a 2084 Janice, I have one of those, but you could ask if it has a number to check?

Mumof1 -- I never liked the vases for some reason I never found them appealing - I was strictly a plate/cup girl, but lately I have bought heaps of vases!! -- I am just starting to look at the different shapes of white ware and so forth. ( getting my head around them is quite a mammoth task - soo many)
When you see them on Trademe then in real life its quite interesting the sizes and the feel of the glazes ....
I am trying not to get obsessed and buy them all LOL

Be careful Janice! I started off to find a couple I could give my daughter when she turns 21, as I thought it would be great for her to have these iconic pieces, especially a swan. Once I had 6, and they were together, I started to want other shapes (and why I joined this site), and now I am addicted to my 100's of them. I am not a plate/cup girl at all, buying the odd pattern that appealed or was a no-namer for the site, but discovered yesterday when putting them all together, that I have about 4 banana boxes full! I might have to move some of them on soon. I think Crown Lynn glazed addiction dust into their glaze
