Monogrammed Ware for the gallery.
I went through my C/L table ware to check for monogrammed ware to see what is can go in the gallery. I hope that I am not showing any double up's.

Re: Monogrammed Ware for the gallery.
A great selection haselnuss, are the ones without back stamps showing Crown Lynn, as the first one is Grindley, which is English, and not related to Crown Lynn. There was a lot of NZ related wares that they printed on Grindley plates etc for the tourist market, so I just want to check please.

Mumof1, underneath the Grindley Ware it also says Gibson & Paterson Limited New Zealand and that made me think that it would be appropriate to post it.
All the others are Crown Lynn.

Re: Monogrammed Ware for the gallery.
I just had a look on Google and found an explanation for my mistake.
Basically Grindley England were the makers and Gibson & Patersons New Zealand the importers.
It is explained in this text just with Gibson & Paterson Australia.

Re: Monogrammed Ware for the gallery.
Thanks Jeremy, we still don't have a number for that shape mug and it will be 3 digits from that era.
The Portage site has 728 as a possibility -
http://www.nzmuseums.co.nz/esearch/object?a=3384&q=728
I will have to check it out when the Museum opens as they have more info on shapes that we do.

Re: Monogrammed Ware for the gallery.
1 already had the shape in Fleurette but it didn't look good on the shelf so I got Tauranga for that. I had a check before I posted it and remembered it was one of the "rattlers". (Rattling the Cups.)
If it does turn out to be 728 we need to find a new number for the one already in the gallery. I seem to recall you took the shape off a Crown Lynn poster so I think you got it right.
Remember also the Frank Carpay mug is a different one again
AND
there is also the other shape on page 202 of Gail Henry!
(Second from left.)
We should get Anne to do her magic on that one.
I had a try and failed.
Still lots of interesting mug shapes (body and handle combinations) at Portage to get my head around too. Whether they all went into production is another matter.

Re: Monogrammed Ware for the gallery.
The House Of Representative plate has the green roundCrown Lynn Super Vitrified 73 New Zealand stamp underneath.
The green anchor with rope type plate has the same stamp just with the number 71.
The Pakohai plate Crown Lynn vitrified in green script on the base.
The Otamatea Marae pin dish has the C/L Crown the number 8 Crown Lynn New Zealand Vitrified in green on the base.
Please let me know if photos of the bases are required.
