About 23 years ago I bought a breakfast set from Tanfield & Potter when they were still in Queen St.and as the summer has arrived we use it every morning. I thought I would have a look and see if the company that made it still existed and found that they do and are over 200 years old. There is a very interesting and informative website at
http://www.zeller-keramik.de/  with the design we love featured.

The design called Hahn und Henne is handpainted still today as it was in 1897.
There is sign of crazing on some of our pieces so they don't go in he dishwasher but will last a few more summers with careful handling.

If only , Crown Lynn might still be in production. The cup is very similar to the bowl shape that CL made for DB & Air NZ among others.
