small Briar Gardner dish
Tiny dish from Tikipunga Market this morning. 50c.
I believe the signature could read "Briar Gardner". I thought it had some paper on the base but on further examination it appears to have lost glaze. Perhaps ground off for it to sit flat.

about 65mm across top and about 30 high
Does it look like her work?
The glaze colour looks similar to one of Marcus' pieces:

Re: small Briar Gardner dish
That is an excellent find Jeremy and yes that is her signature.
There is less and less of her work around so even little pieces are significant

Ta.
You can see more of the signature when you move it around but a photo only takes one view.
My friend Tus and I have started going to the market earlier because Jim was getting all the bargains!
I was so envious of Kat's recent finds too so I'm glad to be contributing something interesting to NZ's pottery history.
I've actually been tempted to buy a bit of Briar Gardner recently, so this will quiet my spending urges a little and, I've certainly saved money even if only $50 or so.
I'm slowly putting together a small collection of small pieces like this. I think the pieces of BG I've looked at on the forum and tm today all dwarf it.
Apart from the bottom, which could very well be how it left the studio, it is in perfect condition.

Wow, one not much bigger than this just sold on tm for $112.50 and a larger one for $355:
