Oh happy days! I finally have a .492.
I was so lucky to spot this a few weeks ago, and have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive. I felt like a kid in a lolly shop when I found this rare treasure! It is perfect with no damage or paint loss, except for the little flowers which have suffered a little over the years. I'm chuffed to say the least!
It is not only clearly stamped, but also has a Royal Oak sticker on it. Soooo pleased with it!!

Oh WOW I've never seen one of these before only the Museum drawing.
It's fantastic and it covers two shape numbers as well.
The four digit number 1400 and the old 492 !!!!.
Please share how you found it and where please Ms sleuther of the year!

Re: Oh happy days! I finally have a .492.
I found it on TM !! Yes, I got this one under the radar. As well as my usual saved searches, Crown Lynn, Roydon etc, I have others that I use to find a particular property of something we don't have in the gallery, or I don't have in my collection, as they are not always listed as CL. Usually they turn up items totally unrelated, and I delete them, but often if there is no CL stamp, the seller will say it is stamped with a number, so this turned up under my Stamped Dish search, as the seller said it was stamped 492. I only scroll quickly through the images, but this one stood out, and I asked the seller to shorten the end date for me as they were new and therefore couldn't do a Buy Now, and then held my breath for a few days, and luckily I won it with no competition. Quite a stressful time, but well worth it. If I had a 'quilted' saved search it would have turned up on that also, as the seller said it had a quilted look to it.
So, if you are looking for something in particular, choose a search which uses the word that best describes the item, and eventually it may turn up as this did! I can't stop grinning

It seems the flowers and leaves have been glued on, as one piece, and while I thought there were a few small nibbles on them and a couple missing, the close-up makes them look horrendous!

Funny that you say that Kat as they reminded me of my Gt Great Grandmother's ceramic wreath on her grave at Pokeno. A bit early for Crown Lynn at 1915, but made up of many individual little flowers.

Thank you haselnuss, I have noted over time you have some rare pieces too ! Happy for both of us, and everyone else who occasionally gets that buzz from finding a piece that turns their pottery passion to an ecstatic moment
