Who is Rene
This tall jar was presumably made to hold the plastic bags inside cask wine boxes. It has a hole on one side - the ventilation makes it perfect for onions! The mark is Rene - note the French accent above the e. I love it - brought it back all the way from Richmond near Nelson years ago. A treasured opshop find. I see quite a bit of work in this style, the potter must have been reasonably prolific. Height including lid is 26 cm.

Re: Who is Rene
That's the only name that popped out of Google for me, but we really need more confirmation. A sticker would be great

Onion jar is not Rene Goodfellow
I found an email address for Rene Goodfellow and asked her - see below!
Hi Val, sorry this is not my work, I sign RG for Rene Goodfellow, but I have had work attributed to me on trade me listings, made by a potter signing Rene but with an acute sign over the second e like yours... Can't find it in the potters marks book. Maybe Australian. Rene Goodfellow
