1080 Liqueur Bottle
Val and I visited Eva Beach and her daughter Sharon on Saturday and I was blown away when Sharon showed us two of these 1080 Liqueur Bottles. Sharon said her Dad [Peter Beach] was very proud of them. He worked at Crown Lynn as a Glaze technician and I immediately recognised that one had the Basalt glaze on it and the other had Lucow! How amazing to find that Peter Beach had developed these two glazes.
Of course photos of these two glazes are extremely hard to capture, but in real life one was greenstone green and the other was brown breaking to black.
There is some small hard to read writing beside the 1080 bottle in the records. The emblem has 'Moon motif' written beside it. Also it says 'Won Int Comp Italian Grande Prix Stopper 2 bottles ? ? ? ? [can't decipher] Green'. Hopefully something will turn up that makes sense of all that.

I'm pleased to hear that Peter Beach was responsible for Lucow and Basalt.
Perhaps as they were developed at Crown Lynn they own the recipe, as so far we have seen no Beach Artware in similar. Or maybe the moment had passed.
