Ande Barrett-Hegan
The other day my friend Jan from Burning Issues Gallery in Whangarei pointed out works by Ande Barrett-Hegan. I must say I was quite impressed! Here are some pics and a link to her website (which has some outstanding images). Jug with mugs is 17 cm high, the Sea Basket sculpture is 29 cm.

Re: Ande Barrett-Hegan
Finally I have one, albeit a wee one.
Ande Barrett espresso mug with faces.

A couple years ago I dithered about buying the last Ande Barrett mug for sale at Burning Issues in Whangarei and missed out on it by just one day.
And by that time they were long gone from Masterworks in Auckland too.
I was delighted to see this wee one on trademe last week but Stacy (Northland Pottery) Morrison already had a bid on so it wasn't until Stacy was outbid and I had left it as long as I dared for her return that I joined the auction. Then the ipad screwed around for the last few minutes of the auction (don't ever upgrade the system on an apple device!) and so I had to wait a while to see if I had won or lost. Very worrying.
Great news followed today as I only got around to paying online this morning and when I returned from shopping it was already in our new letterbox, the one that's big enough to take parcels without the postie hammering them in, and had survived its travel experience in a $4 postbag. Few trademe sellers post before receiving payment so I always reward the ones that do with top feedback. Next.
