Names to look out for are Ceramics Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art and Pewabic Pottery as well as Centering in Pottery, Poetry, and Person by M.C. Richards — a potter, poet, and essayist who taught at the Black Mountain College in the 1940s. And the potters Mary Chase Perry Stratton, Maija Grotell, Robert Lugo, Jeremy Brooks, Kathy Butterly, Nicole Cherubini, Matthew Bennett Laurents, Howard Kottler and Marie Torbensdatter Hermann.
