some Martin Poppelwell work and a mark
Work by Martin Poppelwell.
I spotted the plates at the home of Nicole's friend Andrew at his annual Christmas Eve party. Then I was directed to the strip, a recent purchase by a housemate.

If the description I see for some of Martin's work for sale also applies here the medium will be white slip and black stain on earthenware. That's what it looked like to me.
