Small basket vase with twisted handle
This is almost 11cm high and is glazed with a lovely waxy glaze.
The base is flat and the clay appears to match other pieces that were made for Salisbury. I got it as it reminded me of the basket vases in the Salisbury catalogues, but those ones have wire handles.
The closest I can find to this one on the net is by Pates Pottery circa 1940's, but the twists are much looser on their handles.
The pencil markings on the base are similar to a log vase that I have that is included in the Salisbury catalogues.
The handle had been broken in two places and glued and there is a chip near the base and it has been glued back, so someone loved this sweetie.
