Hi, having trouble identifying this large piece.  Any ideas?
Not sure why photos come out on their side sorry.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Nicola
Judging by the stapler next to the piece, it is a hand built piece about 45 cm high with a manganese or iron oxide wash sealed with a clear glaze. Is this right?
The thing worth commenting on is its size. Not many part time or amateur potters had a go at things this size in the 1970s. That said, I don't recognize the mark off hand as that of a more prominent potter.

Just a thought - the mark is closest to that of Paula King, a relatively early and respected potter who was part of the 12 Potters Shop in Auckland, which included Olive Jones etc. I'm not saying it is by her but keep an eye out for work by Paula King and if you come across something similar, you might be able to make an attribution.

The reason I mention this is that there was a bowl in the following auction with the same mark that may be by King.
