Centering clay at first seems to be a battle with a clay god!!
If you cup your hands around the clay and then lean your body weight forward ...
and think of your hands as vice grips ..... that should make the clay rise into a cone of obedient clay.
Your arms should be braced against your body ... or the wheel.
Cup your right hand over the cone of clay ... your left hand embracing the shape of the clay ...
and by pushing down on the cone.... your clay will be centered.... it may take a couple of go's
especially if your clay has not been wedged properly or if it has air bubbles in it Very Happy
ps..... those instructions are for right handed beings..... lefties will have to reverse them Wink
