Barbara has been very creative with clay for many years.
There is no backstamp on this piece but I got it from her Smashed Pipi Gallery in Mangawhai and Barbara wrote on the gallery card 'Handmade by Barbara Hockenhull'.

Barbara Hockenhull, recent work at age 79.

This mug is not marked for maker. Angela H said the impression at the base of the handle is not a potter's mark.

I've run out of birthday and Christmas for this year so I don't know when I get to keep this.

I have not been to the Pipi Gallery for must be ten years. Lots of lovely pottery by various Hockenhulls along with the expected Kilsbey, Adams, Scythe, van der Putten, and the less expected Kim Morgan.

It is with great sadness that I have to report that Barbara Hockenhull has passed on to Potter's Heaven Sad

I didn't know Barbara, but she was always so obliging with helping me identify Hockenhull pieces. I believe she was a true pottery matriarch. I was sorry to hear of her death.
