It was a big day in Crown Lynn history today when Heather, Manos and I were asked to identify fake swans and McAlpine Jugs at the Henderson Police Station.

Large Female Swans in Black and White
Large Male Swans in Black and White
Medium Swans in Black and White
McAlpine Fridge Jugs in Yellow, Green and Blue
Prestcold Fridge Jug
The c in McAlpine has a line through it and the Crown Lynn ones don't.

None had the Crown Lynn stamp on them.
The swans were all numbered with the correct numbers and had the dots on the 170's but not on the 2147.
There were no stand out easy ways to identify these as fakes, other than the Fridge Jugs and the ugly black glaze they used!

The Swans all looked brand new and crispy clean.

If anyone has any concerns regarding any of the above that they have acquired in the last year or so, please message us here and we will endeavour to help.

I've just heard that the courtcase for the Fakes guy was held recently and he was convicted on 6 counts. His Second hand dealers licence has gone and the Pawnbroker business has been shut down.

Haven't heard if he has been sentenced yet, but I'm waiting for that info.

Fake large swans are still turning up around the country and someone from Rotorua has been selling them on the Facebook Marketplace, so please be aware of this !!

Three cheers for the Henderson Police cheers cheers cheers

Excellent news. But as Ev says, unfortunately many of the fakes are still in circulation so yes - check purchases carefully.
