Hi everyone, there has been a surge of Reported Abuses regarding various adverts on the site that are inappropriate.

There is nothing that we can do regarding the ads, other than to report them to Forumotion our host site. Forumotion is fighting an endless battle with these ads and cannot keep up with the barrage, as soon as they get rid of one, another pops up.

However if you Register to the site and Log In you will never see another advert of any kind. Many people just stop by briefly and don't want to join our site, but I strongly recommend that you do if those pesky ads bother you in any way.

I'm sorry to hear that as I've only ever seen any ads when I haven't been logged in. If you could show a screenshot of where the ad shows up I would appreciate it. Thanks Ev

Could I suggest that you email a screenshot to newzealandpottery@gmail.com please ...

Also can I ask if anyone else sees the adverts when they are logged in to please let me know in this topic.  The site has an option to include adverts on site for members and it has been turned off to only adverts for visitors, so I need to know if it isn't working.  Many thanks.

Thank you so much LHLW

I have been investigating this and it seems that things have changed for the site since they changed to Package deals last year and if you don't want adverts to show it costs a heap more even though we are already on the Advanced Package.
In theory we should all be seeing adverts regardless of if we are logged in or not !!!1
This is very annoying indeed, but I am spared for some reason.
I'm sorry, but I am not prepared to pay to have the adverts not show and I'm rather upset at finding out this news ....

No problem Ev, it's no worse than many other sites, including FaceBook! You can only do what you can do and what you already do is amazing!

Thanks LHLW for your support Smile

It is the porno links that people have complained about that concern me the most ...

It has been suggested to me for those that use Chrome, they have an excellent Ad Blocker that can be used.

I don't see any ads when I'm logged in either Ev. Perhaps it's only the new members who will have this problem, i.e. joined after the changeover?

Thanks so much Anne, as that could be the reason.  I'm still trying to find the old place where you could change the options for adverts, but it seems to have gone awol.

Edits to add that I found it, but it has changed to this:
Activate Ads - O All - O Members & Guests ... and the latter was highlighted

So that answers my question!!!
