Hi tabbyland thank you for the photos.
The planter pot looks like it has a gallery for a lid.
Perhaps it once was a lidded crock?
Are there any markings on the base or anywhere else?
Many thanks Ev Smile

Hi Ev, I have two of these and found both without a lid.  They have a hole near the bottom which I assumed meant they were planters but on closer examination, the hole doesn't go right through. Only one has a mark on the bottom as shown:Temuka bowl, lidded sugar and crockpot Dscn6514

Thank you.
I'm frantically googling to no avail, but the Stoneware stamp tells me that it is high fired and strong, which is another crock attribute.
However I will load it into the Gallery as a Jar.
If I find any further info I will let you know Very Happy

Hi, I have one of these in the garden and I have always attributed it to the crockpot genre. Another one I have is almost identical but shallower and has an all over glaze. I presume they would have had glass lids?
