Crewenna and Harry and May Davis
This pottery was very significant in the late '60's early '70's. I remember going to visit on our first visit to the South Island. We visited as many craft potters as we could but were too poor to buy much. We bought 4 egg cups from Crewenna but ours were kiln seconds. I still have all four.
This is two of them. I consider the kiln faults part of their history!
On a recent trip through Nelson I bought this jug at an op shop. It just spoke to me! Yes it was Crewenna and it also has a kiln fault. How could I resist?
I can't make out what the second stamp says.
