An interesting little Vase came my way this week, thanks to John Gall and the Ferret.
It was made by Herbert Hoare who was a well known florist and potter in the Arts Village Rotorua when it was set up in 1974. He was very involved with the Village and one of the rooms there is even named after him.
This pot has his mark plus Little Village Rotorua stamped on it. He passed away in 1998, but his Pottery lives on.
I found heaps of info about him on The Arts Village Rotorua Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RotoruaArtsVillage/ but very few people remember him now......
