Oh happy day!
I got these pots today and am feeling very pleased with myself! Can't find the marks in the gallery though, perhaps someone can help.
Edited to change photo - just realised I posted two the same.

front pot's mark

very cool vase by the same potter

and the mark

and finally, not sure what to call this one but I love it:

Re: Oh happy day!
Nice work!!
There is a Maurice Dawson in the Potters Marks book that has an M with the D coming off the M, but as it doesn't show the surround I can't be sure. More investigation is required

Thanks Ev, I can't find any good images for his work or mark :-(
Any thoughts on the flower/sun type mark? As much as I love the pictorial marks, they are difficult to search for. I dream of image matching search engines

Re: Oh happy day!
The flower mark is one that I'm familiar with ..... just can't find any name atm bah-humbug
Will sleep on it and see what turns up

Re: Oh happy day!
Just checked the nzpotters website for you ...
Don't think that it's Maurice Dawson as there is no surround on two of his marks.
Very similar though...

Re: Oh happy day!
Hmmm, well hopefully something will turn up eventually! I just adore the tall vase with its dramatic glaze.
Back to the flower mark pot, is there a name for that kind of shaped pot with the tall stem? I guess it falls under the generic pot/vessel description ;-)
Edited to add: The flower mark looks familiar to me, too, I thought perhaps it was in one of the mystery pot threads, but haven't been able to find it. I'm starting to get lots of marks jumbling round in my head together - and I've only just started learning them

Re: Oh happy day!
There is this flower mark that we haven't identified yet -

It's not the same flower though

Re: Oh happy day!
Hmmm, so similar, but mine has 10 petals/spokes and the other mystery one has 12...
argh! Is there a photo of the pot that mark came from?

Re: Oh happy day!
Hmmmm I don't appear to have a photo of the flower marked pot ... it's a goblet.
Will rectify that when the camera is up and running again!

Re: Oh happy day!
CAme across this listing for Margaret Day, and though I cannot swear that the surround is the same, the "MD" is a remarkable match

Re: Oh happy day!
That looks like a match to me Cat too.
The marks book says she hailed from the Manawatu which is even more convincing.
Excellent !! I will put it into the Gallery on Sunday.
