Can anyone give me the background for this design - its place of use etc. I have a milk jug and sugar bowl, oval platters/plates, dessert bowls of 2 sizes, side plates and 3 sizes of circular plates.

Avondale is made from strong vitrified clay, so would have been used in the hospitality industry. I have no idea who used it sorry.
